Hi. I’m Rachel.
I want to start by congratulating you. In a world where asking for help isn’t always encouraged, it can be difficult to take the first step. This is a big deal. Take a minute to celebrate yourself. It’s not easy to entrust a total stranger with your inner thoughts and experiences.
A little about me; I’m your typical millennial and Austinite. I have numerous tattoos. I have shaved my head on a whim. I curse a fair amount. I believe there is a meme for everything. Apologies to my mom, but she’s only getting grand-dogs.
In my opinion, your productivity doesn’t determine your worth.
I value authenticity and transparency.
I’m a mental health advocate working to break the stigma around going to therapy.
I believe in a life based on experiences and contentment, not things and consumption.
Helping people is my passion. I genuinely enjoy getting to know my clients, hearing their stories, and being a part of their therapy process. I am personable, genuine, and laid-back and my warm personality makes me easy to talk to. I’m not afraid to talk about the hard or awkward stuff. Judgment has no place in therapy. Period.
Therapy shouldn’t feel like a stale clinical experience. There shouldn’t be strict rules and structures. Therapy is your time to talk about whatever you want. Therapy with me will probably look and feel like a laid-back conversation, but it’s all about you. I like to think of therapy in terms of a puzzle - We’ll look at all the individual pieces of your life and one by one, I’ll help you put the pieces together.

Outside of Therapy
I am a Michigander by birth and became a Texan by transplant 13 years ago.
I’ve been described as “Recklessly compassionate, and prisoner to whimsy” and “an all-around considerate, thoughtful, selfless, "helper" personality.”
When I’m not working, I can be found thrifting, playing roller derby, going to see live music, DIY home renovating, spending time with my husband and dog, and traveling the world.

Chuck
This is Chuck short for “Good Luck Chuck”. He’s a rescue from Mexico where he was found shot in the face and run over on the side of the road. He’s missing a few toes, his legs don’t work quite right, and he has a permanent toof, but we think that just makes him cuter. Chuck loves nothing more than for you to smush him into a big hug.

Bones
Bones was the best office assistant. He often made appearances in sessions to make sure everything was ok. He loved pets and tennis balls, but more than anything he loved people. He retired to the rainbow bridge on May 20, 2022.

Bender
Bender took his job as the practice admin very seriously. He took great pride in monitoring the office door for all activity. He was often found napping on the job or taking snack breaks. He retired to the rainbow bridge on December 17, 2020.
